Mario's Martian Manhunter!

This one I'm posting as i create; a gazillion sketches for one slightly more finished drawing. I do that in order to study the shapes i like and to get the hand practice needed for a more free hand rendering. This super has the capability to assume any shape, size & color or, by becoming both ethereal and invisible , he can virtually become a boundless conscience. First redesign: Wolverine!

This week we'll plunge into Concept Art . Basically, when a movie, a cartoon, a video game or a comic is made, someone needs to think the shape and function of things in this virtual environment. Starting from the characters morphology, costumes and objects, to the architecture of the surrounding buildings or the shape of the scenery and even the creatures that live in it. The more detail and thought is put into it the more convincing that created world will be. In fact, the more the world is fantastic or far from our own reality, the more effort it takes to make it feel real or at least plausible. So for the next 7 days I'll show you some of this creation process through the redesign of some already existing superheroes. And here is The Wolverine . This is a new title for a character I'm designing. I wanted it to be very simple and yet hold the potential for some kind of variation. So in 2D it can became a window to an image and in 3D it can occupy a space and interact in a virtual world as well as having several interesting sides to look at. This is just the sketch of what it can look like in 3D.
